New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
I grew up right here in Pulaski County, graduating from Pulaski County High School in 1976. From there, I received my bachelor’s degree at Furman University in Greenville, SC and settled in Richmond, Virginia with my husband John and our four daughters. My dad, Dr. Tommy Haller was the local dentist in town and still resides in Pulaski County with my mom, Lillian.
Highlights of my past positions include my time as the first Business Manager at Goochland County Fire and Rescue. With over 240 volunteers, I supported this amazing organization and was instrumental in assisting them with grant writing and budgeting processes as well as streamlining many of their day-to-day activities and reporting. We also started the first ever "Fire Camp" for the county, where kids ages 7-14 could spend a week over the summer learning all about what it takes to be a firefighter with the hopes that they would then volunteer their time when they were old enough to do so. Working alongside these firefighters and EMS workers gave me a new perspective on the word "service."
Although I had a very successful career in the Richmond area, I decided to return to my roots of Pulaski County in 2012 and I currently serve as the Executive Director of the YMCA of Pulaski County. I accepted the position when the Y was experiencing tough times and with the help of the community, was able to turn the facility around with added programs and services for all residents of Pulaski.
As a Claytor Lake and Draper District resident, my vision is now turning towards giving back to my community and I am seeking the nomination on the Board of Supervisors for the Draper District. Running as an independent with no party affiliation, I feel that it is important to run a “grass roots” campaign and spend much of my campaign time listening to my constituents on what challenges they see in the community and how we can work together to find solutions!
If you are looking for someone with leadership, commitment and passion, then you’ve made the right decision in voting for me in November. I would appreciate your support as I move forward with my campaign and appreciate your feedback!
